Hey! Today I turn 26 and it's also my blog's second anniversary!
I just can't believe it's already been two years.
I started writing here because ever since I started reading Gertie, I was so in love with the sewing blogosphere and I really wanted to be part of it.
I've grown so attached to this blog, to the possibility to share one of my main interests with other people and to the incredible support I've received since the beginning.

I've grown so attached to this blog, to the possibility to share one of my main interests with other people and to the incredible support I've received since the beginning.
Thanks to this blog, I've been motivated to sew more, I've met some incredible people and I've been included in lots of amazing projects.
One of these, and definitely the dearest to me, was contributing to Deer & Doe. Ever since I discovered Eléonore's patterns, I was more than smitten by her talent and was a huge supporter of her work. We started emailing regularly, we decided to host a sew-along together and speaking of the huge request for an English translation of her patterns, she asked me if I was interested in translating them.
I'm a trained translator, and while I would usually refuse to translate into a language that is not my mother tongue, I am confident enough in my English sewing vocabulary that I accepted. And after some opportune proof-reading, the patterns are finally available in English!

A couple days ago I asked the Sureau Pattren for my birthday and I can't wait to start with it! (It's in French, but that will be no problem, I think)
ReplyDeleteSo, anyway, I would go for the Bleuet Dress. I find it even prettier then the Sureau.
If I win (oh, God, then I would be soooo happy) you can contact me on fiencriel@hotmail.com.

ReplyDeleteWow - Yes please. I'd love to win a pattern. It was my birthday on 1st Jan and I got just what I wanted. A new ironing board for my sewing room. Told hubby this is the only time he can buy me a useful household item for my birthday!

Thank you for this giveaway, I hope it's international because I would love to win the Sureau...or the Airelle, for that matter! And I get your posts via email and I am pretty sure I am a follower, not sure anymore. Oh, and to answer the question, I would love a Bernina sewing machine but that is waaaay to expensive a bday gift to ask for. (I have started saving for one, in any case)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I follow via Google Friend Connect! To tell the truth, I'd be torn between the Belladone and the Bleuet. They both look nice! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday pretty lady and thank you for all the blogging goodness XD Please don't enter me for any giveaway stuff-I have all I need. Cheers and here's to another awesome year.
ReplyDeleteHello there! Happy happy birthday to you! That's so amazing you've accomplished so much before 26. :) Congratulations on translating the patterns! I've never been inclined to purchase one myself, since they are in French (and it's hard enough for me to follow patterns in English, hehehe). :) I am so inspired by your sew-along to try out the Sureau dress - it looks so gorgeous on you!!
ReplyDeleteI just recently discovered your blog this past year... Not only are your garments beautiful, but I just love the way you photograph them also! I'd be interested to see a little how-to on photographing your projects, if you're looking for new post ideas in 2013. ;)

ReplyDeleteI am following you in the old style, checking out several times a week because your blog (and Gertie's too) is one of my favorite sewing blog. I started reading your blog by the end of 2011, when you talked about the Burda Dec 2011 issue (I bought that issue because of the pastel dress you showed and I sewed it) and then I decided to blog too.
Reading the other comments, I realize I am not up to date with the internet 2.0, there is a lot of stuff I never heard about! Still, thank you for the give-away, I'll give a try and I would love to sew a Sureau.
Happy Birthday to you and your blog! I've been following you for an age through blogger, and just love your makes! For my birthday, I'd love a dog, haha! But really, I so love the Belladone pattern, so sweet!

ReplyDeleteI'm dying for the Sureau pattern and would love to win it! I've just had my birthday and the only sewing thing I got was a rather nice seam board, which I love. ReplyDeleteI subscribe to your blog via email and it was through you that I found out about deer and doe patterns. I have the belladone dress pattern waiting for my sewing skill level to match it! For my birthday I'd love some tips on good french websites for fabrics - I'm struggling to find any - can anyone help? Failing that, UK ones that will deliver to France.

Thank you for translating the deer and doe patterns, I have been waiting for the english translations so that I can follow your sew along and make the sureau dress! ReplyDeleteDiscovered Deer and Doe thru your blog which has become my number one go-to site for inspiration and excellent sewing advice. Ordered the Airelle and struggled thru with my rusty French so was delighted to receive Eleanor's email saying the patterns were now available in English. Happy birthday! I'd love to try my hand at a Deer and Doe pattern. The line has a bunch of beautiful dresses, but I have my heart set on a mustard coat these days. My birthday is too far away to have any big birthday wishes. If I am lucky enough to win, you can reach me at amy.ahearta at gmail dot com. PS I follow with Bloglovin.

ReplyDeleteI'd love the Belladone dress! I follow you with Google Reader.
ReplyDeleteHi Paunnet this is my first comment on your blog! First of all happy birthday (in late) I follow you from Rome, visiting your blog approximately every three days. I love the Robe Belladone pattern, as well in French...
ReplyDeleteWOo! Hope you had a fabulous birthday! :) Hopefully I can win the Sureau dress and make one before my Europe trip! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you are liked on Facebook! :)
ReplyDeleteI've had trouble getting the commenting to work on your blog, I think it's a versioning issue with Disqus and my machine :-( oh well I'm here now!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to make Belladone ejanebrennan at gmail dot com
And I've tweeted it!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to you and le blog :) I'm a bloglovin' gal and that's what I use to follow all you lovely sewing ladies :) (and the occasional gent). My most favourite Deer & Doe pattern is definitely the belladone dress :) ill retweet you also!
ReplyDeleteand I liked you on facebook
ReplyDeleteHappy belated bday. I bought two of the deer and doe patterns as soon as she reopened in January. Cannot wait to get them I love all three f the sureau dresses I have made.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteFor my birthday, anything sewing related would be great, a new sewing machine would be wonderful!!
Those Deer&Doe patterns are gorgeous, I can't decide between Bleuet and Belladone, so I should probably go and buy both;-)
I've also liked you on Facebook. Thanks for a great giveaway!

My dream birthday present would be a new house, but I don't think that's going to happen!! Thanks for the great giveaway and happy birthday! :)
ReplyDeletehappy birthday to you, mine is in 2 months so my dream is to have a new sewing machine, I follow with FB (Elise Hu...) thanks for the game
ReplyDeleteHappy belated Birthday! Love your comp! I would say I want a house for my birthday but realistically that wouldn't happen so maybe a watch lol or some sewing patterns. I follow on blogger and email is info@iheartfabric.com.au thanks!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Anna!
ReplyDeleteI understand you, I'm not a fan of my own birthday either. As far as a present goes, I've been wanting a wrist watch for a while and every year I try to hint that to my friends and family. But for some reason they always get me something else, I guess I'm too subtle :) But that is fine, when it comes to gifts I am very easy to please :) And since mine birthday is January 12, winning this giveaway would be a sweet present as well :)
I follow you via bloglovin'!

many happy returns, like you I don't like being the centre of attention and for me a birthday can be any day of the year :9 I would love to make the Sureau dress :)

And I'm now following you on facebook too!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to yooooouuuuu! Also, I never knew you were a translator! That's so very, very cool! xo
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday! I follow you via email and I have a link to you on my blog http://dreamingofavonlea.wordpress.com/ (which is still in it's very early stages of construction). In an ideal world I would love my complete amazon wish list for my birthday - but I also wouldn't be displeased with a Deer and Doe dress pattern - loving Robe Bleuet and Sureau at the moment. larakrjacobs@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteAuguri! Che bel blog! I'm a new follower via bloglovin'! The robe belladone pattern is one of my favorites from Deer & Doe. I especially like the back's construction. For my birthday, I would love to take my whole family to Italy. I spent a year studying Italian abroad in Ferrara & Venezia; I'd love to go back and show my family some of my favorite hidden places. Warm regards from Alaska, Courtney
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I stumbled onto your wonderful blog during the holidays and now have purchased my deer and doe pattern for the sewalong. Ok, so I'm not sewing along, but rather sewing after the fact. Anyway, I've purchased fabric and on my way! I am a new fan of your site and don't know how to actually follow so please tell me if I am missing something. I just check your site every so often to see what's going on! I love your style!! Ok, what would I want for my birthday? More confidence to sew more garments! Or, to have started at an earlier age. I started my journey into the sewing world through quilting. I have since expanded my horizons. Ok, I'm addicted to the deer and doe patterns! Please pick me!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I hope you spent a wonderful day treating yourself. Enjoy your next trip around the sun. I love celebrating my birthdays with travel trips. This last year my husband and I enjoyed a weekend in Portland, Oregon. Trips are a great way to look forward to your birthday each year.
ReplyDeleteI also have Paunnet Handmade liked on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday & Happy Blogiversary! :) And how cool that you made it possible for Deer&Doe to have their patterns in English, my French is way bad...
ReplyDeleteHum, my birthday is still half a year away, and it would be obvious to say that I'd love a gift certificate for my favorite fabric shop, but my boyfriend and family always come up with amazing "experience" gifts like cooking classes or cocktail workshops or spa days (and last year my boyfriend took me on a helicopter ride) sooo... I'd rather be surprised? :D
I follow your blog with bloglovin', btw.
I read your blog on Google Reader and really enjoy the sewing inspiration. My birthday is in November and usually what I want by then is to go somewhere warm! But I'd accept something for gardening, cooking or crafting. :)
