La Mia Boutique 05/2012

Want to start the week with some eye candy? The latest "La Mia Boutique" issue is full of beautiful dress patterns. Take a look:

This jacket and dress combo is on the cover. It's quite formal and very elegant in black and white, but I think both patterns could be translated in something much younger and fun using bright colors or prints.

A very simple yet super feminine dress. I love the full skirt, the deep neckline both in the front and in the back, I'm not too sold on the drawstring thing, but this is a dress I could easily wear everyday this summer.

This is probably my favorite from this issue. The keyhole in the front and the opening in the back are beautiful. The contrasting bands at the hem are also a very nice detail.

I think I've already seen a dress more or less like this one in Burda at some point, but the shirred panel in the back makes it kind of unique. It makes fitting the dress so much easier! I love how the pleats at the bust are echoed in the pleats of the skirt.

This dress kind of reminds me of Victory Patterns' Chloe, but with zippered pockets and a V neckline. This silhoutte works very well for my body shape, so this dress will definitely go in my (neverending) wishlist.

Want to see all the technical drawings of this issue? As usual, you can find them in my Flickr.

  1. Woot! Thanks for sharing this, I saw the cover and decided to subscribe (I'm not renewing my Knipmode subscription) and that I loved the 'bolero' (faux-lero?) but I have to wait two-three months because Oz is behind the rest of the world for LMB (and Burda and Patrones.. xp)

    1. It sucks to wait, but at least now you're sure that you'll get it!

  2. I like the last one too. The silhouette is a great shape that can be used with many different fabrics and prints. Plus, pocket zippers are amazing!

  3. I'm not familar with this magazine, your blog is the first place I'd heard of it. Thank you for sharing, I really like the shirred panel on the back of one of the dresses, need to find out more I think. I've only recently found your blog and am really enjoying it, great interviews. Thanks.

    1. Thank you so much!
it's an Italian publication but it's distributed abroad, so maybe you can manage to grab a copy for yourself!

  4. I'm always glad to read your posts about LMB as I subscribed but they send the magazine to my friend in Rome (which is cheaper), she is more or less regularly in Germany and brings the magazine she got (in 2 weeks the last two issues). Actually I prefer LMB to our Burda and also to Ottobre (I don't know if you have the finnish magazine in Italy).

    1. You found such a great solution to get the magazine! :)
I heard of Ottobre but between Burda, La Mia Boutique and commercial patterns I think I have more than enough for a lifetime, so I must restrain myself although I'm very curious!

  5. I could definitely implement all of these patterns into my wardrobe, the 506 jacket is my favorite with the very interesting front shaping. I haven't heard of La Mia Boutique before, but clearly I've been missing out!
