Deer and Doe giveaway winner... and sew-along?

Aaaand the winner is... Jane!

Congratulations! Please check your inbox for an email from yours truly.

I was very happy to see how much enthusiasm you showed for this new pattern line, I think it's so well deserved. I've already started working on these patterns and they're not just cute designs, they are extremely high quality, a real pleasure to work with.

Eléonore and I have been exchanging emails about organizing a sew-along. The rough plan would be to both have a sew-along for the Sureau dress at the same time, with her writing posts in French and I in English. We'd cover the main steps of the construction and some variations to the pattern (like adding a collar, as she did here). The idea is to start in late October/ November.

Since nothing is set in stone yet, but I'd love to have a sew-along here on my blog, I wanted to test the waters and know if anyone of you was interested.

What do you guys say?

  1. I'm pretty interested...are there any stockists for Deer and Doe in the United States? I don't speak French, well not since year two of high school, and I am not very good at navigating the site!

  2. yes please! that would be an awesome way to work with her pattern(s) before she translates them to english.

  3. I would join too! I haven't ordered any patterns yet, so would need time for them to arrive (Man, I am truly in love with the backless dress!).

  4. Not at the moment, their site is the only source at the moment. Try using Google Translator, it should make thing easier for you!

  12. I have a few thing up in the air at the moment, i don't know if ill even have access to a sewing machine by the end of November. But i have been really excited about these patterns ever since i saw them. This might be my first sew along and indie pattern at the same time. Really want to make the Sureau dress and Belladone.

  15. Sounds great! Where can we get her patterns (for those of us in the us?)

  16. I would love the help of a sewalong as my French is minimal! I can't wait for my Belladone pattern to arrive.

  17. From her website (http://www.deer-and-doe.fr/) under the tab "boutique". If you have problem with French give it a try with Google Translate :)

  20. Please? =] =] =] I would love to read along - not sure if I would buy a french pattern - waiting for an english translation!

  21. I am very interested! And if you felt like making the sew-a-long closer to early November rather than late October...then it will be that much easier for me to participate!

  22. Yes! I love this idea. The only thing I can think of that would be better would be for you to do a sew-along for the Pavot coat as well. ha, I'm wanting to make that soo badly but the fact that it is in French intimidates me.

  23. So keen. I've pinned all these patterns by Deer and Doe and am just hanging out for some english translations! Sureau would be my pick too.

  24. As my french is very rusty I would love to have a sewalong in both languages! :D

  25. I'm afraid the pattern will be translated before I could get around to organize another sew-along, but never say never! :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. It's very likely, as Eléonore is finishing her stock for the Sureau pattern and she'll need a little time to restock.

  27. Yay! I'd love to see what you can do with this pattern! :)

  28. Although I already made a Sureau, I would still like to join in and do a SBA this time :)

  29. I'm definitely in! I want all of these patterns, they're so beautiful. Must exercise self control...

  30. How fun! I don't think that dress suits me, but I'm looking forward to seeing all of your versions!

  31. I've never done a sew along before. I think I might try it with this one.

  32. I'm so looking forward to it !

  33. I'm thinking I'll do this! First ever sew-a-long and I'm very pumped to begin on such a cute dress. (But, WAIT! I don't have the pattern yet!) Ginger (over at Gingermakes.wordpress.com) is my waycool sister and she finally talked me into my first sewing project in August - an easy kimono dress. I'm a total novice but am already starting to be ultra hooked on making my own stuff. So fun! And, really, Deer & Doe, c'mon! Could these dresses be any cuter? I'm so in love with this pattern!

Pretty please, hold on 'til they re-stock! S'il vous plaît!!
