  5. P.S. Pun alert...Shark pockets = Jaws-ome! (Sorry had to be done)

  6. Amazing! I might have to make some shark pockets now.

  7. Hahaha, I thought the exact same thing: Gotta add shark pockets to something ASAP! (Okay, I didn’t consider adding them to everything I own, but now that you suggest it, …)

  8. I grant you on formalwear it might be a bit...unusual...but I think it could work!

  9. Gotta make a blazer with shark pockets! Imagine the look on people’s faces when you go to a job interview wearing that!

  10. If I was interviewing someone who turned up in a shark blazer I'd hire them on the spot and probably give them a raise...but perhaps I'm in the minority...

Oh, and let me know which job you want me for when I’m done with my blazer, will ya? (:

  15. Well, I could live without the shark collar, but I absolutely adore the wave waistband.

  16. I love the quirky details! I feel like I have to add shark or bunny pockets to something in the future! I also love the general retro 60s-ish vibe to the shapes and fabrics. Very cute!

  18. Love the navy blue number. I can totally see you making these!

  19. I love the subtlety of the third dress, that it looks normal from first glance and then you see sharks and waves. Very cool designs with a whimsical edge

  20. If I had all these in my closet, I would be one helluva happy camper. These are just awesome. I love the dress with kittens and booze. They are so funky and brilliant.

    These designers are geniuses! :)

  24. Not at all worth buying. I' bought some issues years ago, but never actually made anything from Burda because of the bad instructions and confusing pattern sheets. Also I am annoyed that the biggest size in Burda easy is always slightly too small for me.

Right now I am selling all my old Burda Style and easy magazines on ebay. It will allow me to buy me some really nice indie patterns from which I will actually make something nice

  25. I have a lot of thoughts (in photo order):
    1. That ruffle is strange
    2. Do you think that girl is really in Paris?
    3. Cute - I might make a longer Kelly
    4. I like this very much, but it might just be the fabric
    5. Interesting skirt, but I'd make it a bit longer
    6. Ghostbusters
    7. Ghostbuster-scout combination
    8. Ruffles *shudder*
    9. See above
    10. I think the fabric is drawing me to this, but it is very boxy

  26. I buy the monthly burda magazine and occasionally buy the Burda Easy... this is an issue I will most probably buy cause I love the first dress (especially the back) and the options provided for separate top and skirt... regarding the price, I find that, although the Burda Easy is slightly more expensive than the monthly mag, you still get more patterns for your money as opposed to envelope patterns

  27. oh my gosh, the last picture of the lady hiding her leg behind a plant is too funny!

  28. Wow, after the first dress, it all rolled down hill for me. Even the models seem uncomfortable...

  29. I rarely buy burda magazines and haven't bought an Easy issue for 2 years, but I bought this issue! Mostly for the sweetheart dresses/bustier/skirt, I must say (my favorite being the capsleeves variation you didn't feature). For me, this pattern sums up what burda should offer morte often : cute patterns with variations and more accurate instructions (although some still remain cryptic) : there are so many weird patterns all along the year that I don't believe anyone will make that I would gladly replace by variations of nice designs.
Also, all the patterns begin at size 34 in this issue, which is a nice change for me : I can only make half the designs in standard burda anyway...
But aside from this dress, I'm not sure I would have bought the magazine : so many awkward details, like that open pinafore or those weird front zippers on all the pants/shorts. It's a shame, reallly ; Burda could do so much with so little changes...

  30. I only like the bomber jacket...and the one that was included in the (March? April?) regular mag has crazy voluminous sleeves.

  31. Oooh I like it! To help me locate a copy please could you describe what is on the front cover? What's the model wearing/look like etc? Thank you!

  32. At first I was thinking 'Wow! Burda Easy has such better patterns than regular Burda!" ...Then I kept going and realised it didn't, lol. The first 4 or so were nice though. I haven't bought a Burda in years, I'm not sure any of the projects I ever made with them ever actually turned out well. That was a long time ago though. Maybe I'd still buy them if they were accessible around me...but they aren't. So there. Saves me money ;)

  33. I love the first three (variations) patterns. But the rest, not so much.

  34. Wow, like a trip in the Tardis back to 1982.

  35. I never heard of this brand before so THANK YOU! I too am a total convert to the shark pocket. I mean seriously, who wouldn't want that?
